KViK celebrates its 5th anniversary!

KViK completed 5 years of training in vocational skills on 15th Sept. To commemorate this milestone, KViK management, staff, students, ex.students, friends and well-wishers joined in big number on 19th Sept at its training centre at Weavers colony main road, off Bannerghatta road in Bengaluru.

The function started with melodious Ganesha Vandana prayer by our trainer Mrs. Janet and her student Chandana. A 5 minute film on KViK was released on the occasion. Mr. Subbu Hegde explained the past 5 years eventful journey of KViK with a ppp.  Many guests likened the trained students of KViK to blossoming lotus in the pond nearby!

It was an emotional moment for Tharashree, who was finding going difficult 2 years ago but found comfort and security of sustainable earning after the training in KViK. Bharathi remembers fondly the homely atmosphere in KViK. Shailendra recounted how he was not getting a good job after a Diploma in Electrical, but got a good job immediately after training in KViK 4 years ago. He said he started his own business of CCTV installation 2 years ago and is a very happy entrepreneur today. He is giving employment to others now!

Our Advisory Board member Dr. Surendra Kulkarni addressed the students and their parents and highlighted the role they should play in enrolling other boys and girls needing sustainable livelihood in to vocational training in KViK. Our trainer Mrs. Janet spoke how fulfilling it is to create livelihood for women who are in desperate need of it. Many alumni of KViK spoke eloquently of the role played by KViK in their life. The atmosphere was surely one of gratitude.

The occasion was used to issue certificates to students who had completed their training. All of them are already placed in lucrative jobs! Mrs. Vijaya and Mr. Ramakrishna, founders of Sahasra Ddeepika, were special guests. They lauded the efforts of KViK management in empowering women and wished the institution glorious future.

The occasion was also used to give away prizes to winners of various talent contests in the Ethnic Day, concluded the same morning.

Students showed their talent yet again by entertaining the audience with variety of dances and songs.

Mrs. Veena Hegde proposed vote of thanks and invited every one for a sumptuous high tea.
